Sunday School and Bible Class begin on Rally Day, September 11. This year we will also commemmorate the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks with a brief prayer service. At 8:59 a.m. (the time that the South Tower collapsed, the first of the towers to do so) we will have a brief prayer service, beginning with the tolling of the bell for 1 minute. At 9:10 a.m. is Sunday School for preschool through 8th grade, and Bible class for adults, followed by the church service at 10:25. Everyone is welcome! You are invited to stay for an informal pork chop potluck dinner at 11:30, followed by games. New this year: a dunking booth so kids and adults can play “Dunk the Pastor!” Come join us! Our Sunday School classes use the Growing in Christ materials (Concordia Publishing House, www.cph.org); this fall our children will learn the Bible stories about Joseph and Moses. Our adult Bible class will be learning how the Bible came into English, because 2011 is the 400th anniversary of the King James Version.
Princeton Lutheran School begins the school year at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 6. Call 389-0704 or see www.pelsmn.com. It’s not too late, if you would like your child (preschool through 8th grade) to receive a quality Christian education. Our children begin the day with a devotion, a hymn for the week, the pledge of allegiance, and Bible history. We use classical education materials, including Saxon Math, reading of novels in 3rd-8th grade and the teaching of Latin 2 days per week.
